Merit Program Workshop Series

The MERIT Program Workshop Series provides additional teaching experiences for MERIT Scholars and to promote interactions between members of the MERIT Community. MERIT Scholars will be involved directly in the planning of these workshops. The MERIT Workshop Series are held monthly throughout the academic year; the location of each workshop rotates between institutions.

Each workshop includes an hour-long presentation on a research- or teaching-related topic followed by an informal social gathering over refreshments. These workshops include presentations by each MERIT Scholar, together with his/her Research and Teaching Mentors, as well as invited speakers. Topics should be of interest to the greater MERIT Community; example topics include use of technology in the class-room, establishing a research program at the undergraduate level, and teaching research ethics.
